I hope everyone has survived these past few crazy months in one piece and as healthy as possible. I survived in one piece, but like most everyone else it has been challenging.
As for my training, overall no complaints. It has mostly been easy runs with the occasional speed session or tempo thrown in. Where my training has been lacking is the absence of long runs. Surprisingly, my mileage is up compared to last year but I would say I have been a bit less consistent week to week.
I thought consistency would be easier working from home but it has actually been tougher. I feel a bit guilty going out for runs in the middle of the day and also have a 6 month old so early morning runs have happened sparingly.
Now I am hoping to start doing some time trials at distance I haven’t race before. I also want to increase the amount of trail runs I do each week. Finally, I am going to start adding 1-2 workouts a week, I can only run easy for so long before boredom starts sinking in.
How have you been faring during these past few months? Have you done any virtual racing? Worked out more or less compared to past years?
