Overall, a good week. Would I have liked to get some more strength training and a long run in? You bet, but I realize it is the rare week when everything goes according to plan. When things go perfectly I am definitely grateful.
Sunday: 6.63 miles easy (51:23). Ran this in my hometown where it is perfectly flat.
Monday: 7.38 miles easy (57:27). Again, ran this in my hometown. Nice to be back at the beach.
Tuesday: Back to reality, 5.85 miles easy (46:40).
Wednesday: Trail run at light to moderate effort, 6.82 miles with 641 feet of gain (56:32).
Thursday: AM – 2.7 miles real easy (21:48). PM – 6.39 miles easy (51:13).
Friday: AM – 25 minutes easy on the treadmill (2.73 miles). Strength training – full body, light. PM – SPEED WORK – 200 hard/200 easy x 15 on the track. Hard effort but not close to emptying the tank. Goal was to get the legs moving without having a prolonged recovery. 5.46 miles total including w/u and c/d.
Saturday: 62 minutes easy on treadmill (7.30 miles). Not what I had planned but had some sickness in the house so needed to be available.
For the week I got 51.3 miles in and one strength session in. Any time I get at least 50 miles in I am happy.
