Not a good week for workouts. Had an issue with my right glute that prevented me from running for the first few days of the week. I was able to do the stair-master and let me tell you, that is a good workout. I was discouraged that I couldn’t run but discouragement won’t help so I figured out what I could do and may have some translation to running and went with it. Without further delay here is how my week looked:
Sunday – Tried to run and realized within a few steps that it was not going to happen – OFF
Monday – Felt a little better so I tried again with the same result. I was able to lift – Back and Biceps.
Tuesday – Still not able to run, so did 45 minutes on the stair-master. Tough going.
Wednesday – AM – 30 minute easy run (3.69 miles). Glute felt much better but still nagging a bit.
Thursday – AM – 5.24 miles easy (41:06). Lift – Chest, Triceps, Shoulders and Legs.
Friday – 30 minutes on stair-master. Glute felt good but wanted to make sure so I avoided running.
Saturday – Long Trail run – 10.42 miles (1:33:07). Over 1,100 feet of elevation gain. Went easy.
That’s a wrap for the week. Not a great week but felt like I salvaged it a bit with the long run and the stair-master.
